Weekend Brunch Around Vancouver

Do you crave for a good breakfast when you wake up on a Sunday morning ? I know I do. Usually I get up around 10-10:30 on a Sunday morning and feel like having a heavy breakfast. And I have found several great places around Vancouver for a good Sunday brunch. I personally like Sunday brunch buffet however not all places have a brunch buffet. And some of the brunch buffets in Vancouver downtown are quite expensive ( around $$ 40-50). I wouldn't pay that much for  brunch unless I am celebrating a special occasion. I will start will reasonable priced Sunday brunch buffets.

One of my favorites is Sumptuous Sunday Brunch in Redbar Lounge at Starlight Casino in New Westminister.
  • $9.99 Sunday Brunch
  • Every Sunday 11:00am - 2:00pm
  • Spectacular selection - different, every week
  • Spectacular price - the same, every week
For only 10 dollars per person they have reasonable amount of food selection. Also you get 10% off from your total bill if you use your BC Gold card  (which you can get from Guest Services Desk at any BC Casino).

Grandvilla Casino  in Burnaby also have similar brunch buffet every Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 2 pm for also 9.99 per person but I personally like starlight casino's brunch buffet.

If you like a lot of selection for the brunch buffet then I would recommend Sunday Brunch at Hilton Vancouver Metrotown
6083 McKay Avenue, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada V5H 2W7
Tel: 1-604-438-1200

You can have a look at their Sunday Brunch Menu . It is around 30.00 dollars per person but worth your money. They also have live jazz music.

If you like brunch with a view than you can try out Top of Vancouver Revolving Restaurant. You can see the whole Vancouver downtown and mountains from the top. The restaurant revolves every 60 sec. It is around $38.95 per person from 11:00am - 3:00 pm on Sundays. Although the food is not that great, I guess you are paying for the view and a completely different experience.

Also Rockwell's Bar and Grill have a Sunday brunch for around 25.00 dollars per person from 10 am - 2 pm.

We recently went to two restaurants that served breakfast although they don't offer brunch buffet but I would still recommend them.

The first one is The Orange Room Tapas.
620 6th Street New Westminster
BC V3L 3C3 - (778) 397-1753
SATURDAY and SUNDAY BRUNCH – 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Most of their brunch items are around 11-15 dollars. We ordered French-Style Omelettes: Italian and Philly Steak. I would recommend ordering Philly steak omelette which is my favorite. They also have eggs benedict, free-range eggs and organic tofu platters, pancakes, breakfast burrito and wraps.

And the other restaurant is De Dutch. They have various locations in lower mainland. We ordered breakfast platter: DeSausage and Eggs and Dutch Original Scramble. Both were pretty good. They are also famous for their Genuine Dutch pancakes. Their brunch items cost around 10-12 dollars.

Also there is Ihop, Denny's, ABC Country Restaurant that offer delicious breakfasts.

Greek Restaurants Around Vancouver

I love Greek food a lot specially roast lamb yumm. . This post will contain some of the Greek restaurants I have been around Vancouver and I will try to give my personal review about them.

I will start with Stepho's Greek Taverna on Davie Street.
1124 Davie St
Vancouver, BC V6E1N1
Tel: (604) 683-2555
If you looking for incredible portion of delicious food and easy on the wallet than Stepho's Greek Taverna is the place to be. Most of their entries are around 10 dollars. Some of my favorites are roast lamb, calamari dinner and the lamb souvlaki.  You can also check some of the customer review about the restaurant on  dinehere website.  If you go on weekends or during dinner time there is always line up (around 30-45 minutes) and they don't take reservations as the place is packed all the time .  Below I am posting a picture of roast lamb and calamari dinner we ordered last time we were there.
Roast lamb and Calamari dinner
If the line up is too long, one thing we usually do is go for take out (which takes 10 to 15 minutes) and go to the English bay ( 5 minutes walk) or Stanley park (15-20 minutes walk) and enjoy the food in the park which is nice on a sunny day.

The next place I am going to blog about is Sfinaki Taverna on Hastings St.
Sfinaki Taverna
4061 Hastings St
Burnaby, BC V5C2J1
Tel: (604) 299-3400

I have been to this place several time. The food is little expensive compare to Stepho's. Most of the entries are around 15- 20 dollars. It is easy on the wallet if you use Entertainment Booklet Coupon (which we do most of the time 2 for 1 dinner). Their roast lamb and souvlaki dinners are decent.

Other two places that I would recommend are Kefi Greek Kouzina and Spiro's Greek Taverna
Kefi Greek Kouzine                                    Spiro's Greek Taverna
100 Schoolhouse St, #102                          2565 Barnet Hwy, #22
Coquitlam, BC V3K6V9                            Coquitlam, BC V3H4E2
Tel: (604) 529-1776                                   Tel: (604) 461-4222

Both of these places have delicious greek food and also take Entertainment Booklet Coupons  so you can save some money. I would also recommend trying roast lamb at Spiro's Greek Taverna which I love.

Also if you are at shopping mall food court and are craving for some greek food you can also check out OPA! Souvlaki. Some of the shopping malls in Vancouver area have them such as Park Royal Shopping Centre, Pacific Centre - Granville St., Metrotown Centre, Richmond Centre, Surrey Central Shopping Mall, and Guildford Mall. Stay tuned for my next post of weekend brunch specials.

Life in Vancouver

Hi Everyone,

This is my first blog. I have been living in Vancouver for more than four and half years and have decided to start a blog about beautiful Vancouver city. This blog will be mostly about reviews of different beautiful places and restaurants I have been to around Vancouver.  Since I like visiting different beautiful places and enjoy good food I think my blog might be useful and helpful to people. I would like to share my 2 cents and feel that people might benefit from it. So stay tuned for my next blog entry.
